Obituary of Corvera Robert Woods

December 22, 2003 – Calgary, Alberta

April 20, 2024 – Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Our beloved Corvera Robert Woods, of Calgary, AB, was taken suddenly from us in a tragic accident at the young age of 20 years, during a family vacation on Saturday, April 20, 2024.

Born in Calgary on December 22, 2003, Corvera Robert Woods graduated from St. Gabriel, the Archangel School, Class of 2021, and spent his summers as a Camp Leader at Camp Chestermere. Corvera was a part-time Costco employee, while also studying business at SAIT.

He will be remembered as a young man full of compassion, who lived life to the fullest. He deeply loved and was fiercely protective of his family.

Corvera had a deep connection to God. He spent his favourite days fishing with his dad and baby brother, gazing at the ocean with his mom, and in nature hiking and skiing with his friends.

He’ll be remembered for his goofy sense of humour, his pride in making personal records at the gym, and his loyalty to mango-pineapple bubble tea at every sibling’s night.

He will forever be a dearly loved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, uncle, and friend.

Corvera always lived his life by the following words:

“That’s what life is about, mate, just getting out there, having fun, you know, following your passion and you’re in. just being enthusiastic, you know.” – Steve Irwin

Corvera is survived by his parents, Susie and Andrew Woods; little brother Tristan Woods, big sisters, Rosanna Manaloto-Arshi (Ricky Arshi), Venessa Manaloto (Benz Nguyen), and Julia Manaloto (Stephen); half-siblings, Melissa Reyes-Chong (Chris Chong) and Lucas Reyes; nieces Emilia Arshi, Milliana and Sienna Chong; grandparents, Pamela Woods, Rosa and Sebastiano Allocca; uncles and aunts, Trevor (Giselle), Graeme (Daja), Maria (Mitch), Raffaele (Keegan), Michela (Shafiq), Tony (Katerina); cousins, Elyssa, Amanda (Derek), Evan, Andrea, Emily, Jeremy, Sabrina, Isaac, Zoe, and Arianna; and his beloved pets, Ella and Enzo.

He was predeceased by his grandfather Rev. Roger J.S. Woods.
