Obituary of Charlotte Elaine Hutchison

July 18, 1952 – Charlottetown, Price Edward Island

April 22, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

Charlotte Hutchison (nee Cloney), of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 22, 2024, at the age of 71 years.

Charlotte was born in Charlottetown, PE, on July 18, 1952. Shortly after, the family settled in Moncton, NB, where Charlotte went to school and stayed for most of her life.

Charlotte accomplished much throughout her life and was particularly proud of her six grandchildren, Nickayla, Ashton, Malak, Hassan, Ali, and Hala, as they were her pride and joy.

Charlotte enjoyed doing things that brought other people happiness. She always tried to help those in any kind of need or struggle. She was a great afghan knitter and crocheter. She loved cooking and baking with her grandchildren at Christmas time and she enjoyed gardening and tending to her various pets. Whether it was the birds in the yard, skunks, cats, or her own adopted fur babies. She enjoyed fishing, hiking, nature, and her suspense shows and books. She was the go-to in the family. She will be most remembered for her big heart and thoughtfulness. She always remembered someone’s birthday and made sure they felt special that day. Charlotte celebrated special accomplishments and anniversaries with others, to make sure they knew how proud she was of them and how much she cared.

Charlotte is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sabrina and Akid (Cody) Menhem of Calgary, AB; and her six grandchildren, Nickayla Rider, Ashton Rider, Malak Menhem, Hassan Menhem, Ali Menhem and Hala Menhem, of Calgary, AB. Charlotte is also survived by her three brothers and three sisters-in-law, Bill and Elaine Cloney of Winnipeg, MB, Mike and Sandy Cloney of Riverview, NB, and Dave and M.J. Cloney of Riverview, NB; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Charlotte was predeceased by her parents, Basil and Lila Cloney.

We would like to thank Mr. Rick Suliak for all the support and love he has shown Charlotte and her family during this time.
